Hawkesbury Artists & Artisans Trail 'Pop Up Market' 19th July
Hello Members,
Some info for you regarding the Hawkesbury Artists & Artisans Trail 'Pop Up Market' 19th July.
Some info for you regarding the Hawkesbury Artists & Artisans Trail 'Pop Up Market' 19th July.
This month the HAAT goes into its 8th year (www.haat.com.au). Even though the MTAS have not been a member since inception, the Trail has proved to be a very helpful and successful tool in promoting the Arts & Craft for local Art groups & Individual artists in the Hawkesbury.
The idea of this particular event is to help promote and act as a lead up to the yearly HAAT Open Studio weekend 23rd & 24th August.
As a member of MTAS you are entitled to exhibit at both events.
First Event Sat 19th July: The 'Pop Up Market' this year will only be for 1 day in the Magnolia Mall, Richmond. It is hoped that all Trail members will be participating, so space could be an issue. In view of this MTAS will only be allowed 2 screens. Members will be permitted to exhibit 1 work at no charge. (2 small works will be permitted also) There will be no commission charged on sales at this event. Craft people are also welcome and there will be tables available, or you can bring your own. We have been requested to keep table covers in black or white only. Also demonstrating artists welcome.
Please notify us that you are exhibiting ahead of the day so we can co-ordinate.
Email your notification of your entry and works to info@mtas.com.au or phone Jenny Lawrence 0245 732 541
Times: (Sat Jul 19th.) Work can come in and be set up as early as 8.15am. (Event 9.00 till 4.00pm).
Second Event 23rd & 24th Aug: The MTAS plan to use the Magnolia Mall as their 'Open Studio' venue once again. Apart from tenants in the Mall who may also like to display their wares on tables outside their shops, this space will be for MTAS exclusively for the weekend. We will be able to have all our screens filled with MTAS members works and also a larger display of craft. MTAS members are welcome to do demonstrations. John Shields demonstrated last year at this event and sold his art work.
Final details to be advised later.
Enquiries: Jenny Lawrence 45 732 541
Look forward to seeing you there!

Workshop 8th July with Steve Underwood
MTAS Monthly Meeting Tuesday July 8th - Steve Underwood "Landscapes in Acrylic"
This month we are pleased to welcome Steve Underwood to our Monthly Meeting for July Tuesday the 8th at the Stans Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor 7.30pm
Steve's website is http://www.steveunderwoodartist.com
also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcclAeKdry0
A career in engineering and part-time musician was no obstacle for Steve when he made the transition to painting. Born in the UK, he migrated to Australia at age 14. He always thought he was a painter.
Steve describes himself as a realist painter who paints in an impressionistic style. He paints landscape, portraiture/figurative paintings and still life. While he does not have a favourite subject, if he has been painting landscapes for a few days he can’t wait to paint a face or a figure and more recently, still life.
Steve paints in oils and acrylics. He loves to draw, mainly figurative/anatomy subjects. He is attuned to the Australian landscape, valuing time spent painting outdoors.
Steve is a well-respected art teacher. Meeting people who share his love of painting is gratifying. He conducts regular workshops and demonstrations and is the recipient of several art prizes and commendations. Steve has featured in The Australian Artist magazine and The Artist’s Palette.
There are many renowned painters whose work Steve admires. His extensive library of art materials is a constant source of reference and inspiration. Admiring the work of other artists ensures Steve strives to continue to achieve his personal best.
Both Members and Non Members are welcome to join us for our meetings to view an inspirational artist at work each month, as well as the opportunity to enjoy networking with like-minded art enthusiasts.
7.30pm Tuesday 8th July at the Stan Stevens Studio, Windsor Library, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor (Please arrange to park outside of Library due to carpark early closure)
