Graham Cheney has a Masters of Fine Art (MFA) from COFA UNSW, focusing on, ‘History Painting within an expanded field of art’. His work solidifies the pursuits of a contemporary reification of history subjects, and locates them within current academic theory. Graham Cheney’s theory also includes a visual model that redefines History painting as part of the existing expanded field of Art.
Graham has been a lecturer in Design at UWS, Director of the Arts West and Arts West business foundation an independent group made up of community government and business leaders, who helped support and foster art initiate in the Western Sydney Region and also Director of The Lyndon Albert Gallery, Windsor.
His interest lies mainly with contemporary works, having numerous solo and group exhibitions and Judging many Art awards and prizes.
