MTAS Monthly Meeting & Demo 11th Feb: Joachim Lai

Happy New Year!

The Arts Society returns for 2014 with our first Monthly Meeting to be held on February 11th at 7.30pm in the Stan Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

We are very happy to welcome Watercolour artist Joachim Lai to our meeting.

Joachim has been painting and studying art in various mediums since the 1970's and started seriously painting Watercolour from 1988. He has sold over 300 paintings since then and won many awards at various Art Societies with paintings also published in Australian Artist Magazine.

On the web Joachim says "I love watercolour for its transparency, spontaneity, convenience and speed of execution. Quickly painting hundreds of small watercolours have given me very valuable practice and confidence. In every little composition I strive to incorporate some design principles, softness and hardness, and transparency. To me the beauty of watercolour is in its transparent washes and the closest resemblance to light."
